Picture day

 So today was picture day at Pre-School for Hunter . . . soooo what do I do?  I grab my camera for a few pictures before he left.  What a cute kid he is!!!  Hunt is the sweetest kid I know.  He tells me he loves me at LEAST 20 times a day!  He's more than willing to hand out hugs to me or the rest of the family (whether they want it or not :)  His smile is infectious and so is his goofy laugh!  Oh and isn't he just the CUTEST!  Someday those baby blue's are going to break a lot of girls hearts!

Change of Plans

I am a big planner and hate it when my plans get messed up, but sometimes I guess it works out for the best.  That's what happened today, but I was left with some free time to just have fun with the kids.  We were headed to Cedar City to see my new nephew when Michael got hit with the flu.  It was bound to happen since we've been passing it around the family this week.  We were just north of town when we turned around to bring Michael home.  My plan was to keep heading up with the kids, but after an hour in the car I wasn't sure they would last another 2 1/2 hours and me by myself (plus I really didn't want to spread any of our yucky germs to that cute baby).  So we stayed home and put Michael in bed and I got to work on the house.  After mopping the floor I realized that I owed the kids at least a little fun so we headed to Boulder City.  The McDonalds there is so fun and it was a nice change of scenery.  We were the only ones there so the kids ran wild and I sat and read.  After that we headed to the park to feed the ducks.  It was fun just to watch 4 of my favorite little people discover new things and enjoy each others company.  So as much as I hate when plans have to change I'm thankful for together time with no stress!  We ended the evening with pizza and a movie (Karate Kid).  I'm glad to say Michael's feeling a bit better, which I'm glad for!
Trying to get 4 kids to hold still is IMPOSSIBLE :)

The Highlight Reel

Don't you just wish sometimes you could capture your life like a sports "Highlight Reel"  Think about how nice it would be to see short little excerpts from your week reminding you to be thankful for life's little blessings.  Here's mine that I've been replaying in my mind today . . .
* Getting to listen to the talks in Sacrament
* Great workouts at the gym
* Staying up late to watch Tinkerbell
* Carpools
* Michael only working 3 days
* Playing at the park
* Kids cleaning up Dog poop
* Haley and Hunter both getting goals at soccer
* Sleeping in
* Sitting with Michael on a blanket watching all the kids play
* Pizza Night
* Watching Hayden using a spoon
* Listening to the Prophet at the Relief Society broadcast
* Visiting with good friends
* Having quiet time while Michael takes kids shopping
* Trying a new restaurant and ordering DESSERT
* Grocery shopping all by myself

These are just a few of my blessings from the week, I know that I have to many to list.  There is such wonderful things that happen everyday that I'm trying to appreciate more.

Trouble

This kid is pure trouble! He's cute, mischievous, and everyone in the family does what he wants when he wants it done!
I clean up this mess at LEAST twice a day. It's his favorite cupboard to unload. This is his favorite blanket and doesn't sleep well without it.
He's loving the sandbox, and ends up throwing it all over the yard. Or he loads up the trucks and pushes them around.

Freckles

I just have to say . . . Little girls with freckles are the CUTEST!

By the way--This is her face of intimidation when getting ready for a soccer game. She was gigging 2 seconds later :) What a character!

Pre-School here we come!

Hunter FINALLY started pre-school today. He thought it was total torture to have to wait 2 whole weeks after Haley started for him to go! He was so excited and thanked me about 20 times for taking him to school while we were driving. Hunt is really such a sweet boy and loves to be social. He came home telling me every detail about his day and had to wear his funny hat he made to McDonalds for lunch.
Haley has been equally excited for Hunter to go to school, I think she knows how bored he's been since she started 1st grade. Harmon will miss him the couple of hours Hunt's gone, but it will be a good break for him and me! Those two like to fight a lot!

Super Soccer Saturday

We started off the soccer season this morning with Haley's team "The Ladybugs." Their age division this year is much more competitive than before and is a blast to watch! They have one defender and 3 others on the field. Haley is proving to be really good at defending the goal, but LOVES to get in the mix going after the ball. She's not the fastest or the most skilled on the team, but she listens and takes direction from her coach better than anyone! Because she listened so well, she was set up for a goal today and scored!!!!! There were only 3 goals the whole game and she had one. It was a blast to watch and cheer her on!
Going for the Goal

Hunter's first game was right after Haley's and I'm afraid he was tired or distracted or something. I guess the important thing is that he had fun! He is still fun to watch and we know his team will improve thru the season, hopefully sooner than later :) They don't technically keep score for that age division, but I do know that his team got 3 goals and I lost count how many the other team got :) He did have a good time though and is excited to play and I'm glad just to see him smiling.

We survived

So we survived the first week of school. Haley has decided that first grade is lots of fun, but very tiring. I love to hear each day the things she is excited about. It's usually lunch and whatever special thing they got to do that day like art, PE, and library. I think she has been most excited about the new school clothes she got. So we just had to take pictures, it helps that she LOVES the camera :) I'm afraid she's going to want to have a fashion show everyday! I didn't think we bought her very many clothes, but she's got quite a wardrobe now!

Among the other accomplishments of the week for me are 3 soccer practices, 3 play dates with the boys, 4 days at the gym for me, and lots of catch up work around the house. It's nice being back on a schedule. Michael has started softball practice again which is nice to see him do something he enjoys. Soccer is also in full swing and we are lucky to have GREAT coaches for both of them! Games start next week so lots more to come on that. Hunter also starts pre-school next week so he is really excited about that. Right now all I can say is that life is good and we are happy.
