Addictions

Hello, my name is Alleen and I'm an addict. Over the years, I've had many addictions some of which I've overcome. Others I still struggle with. When I think of those darn things that plague my life there are a few that I remember fondly.
  • Frozen Kit Kats

  • Olive Garden (when I was working I could eat lunch there daily)

  • Vanilla Coke with Popcorn (Every Sunday Night)

  • Sonic Strawberry Limeade Chiller (Yummy)

  • Everything covered in cheese

  • Crushed Ice

  • Diet Coke (still addicted!!!!!)

  • Maple Bars (Ooooo that sounds good right now)

  • Andy Capp Cheese Fries (at the ball park)

You may notice that all my addictions are of the food variety. Why can't I get addicted to working out and eating fruits and veggies? Well last week I discovered a way to curve my eating addictions. I just need to occupy my hands so that I'm not eating (especially at night when I'm alone), so I purchased Super Mario Brothers for the Wii last week with my Mothers Day Money. Now I understand what a true addiction is. I start playing and I can't put the remote down! I feel like I'm 12 again and sneak to stay up late trying to pass off one more level. My eyes burn and my hands ache, but I just HAVE to play one more game. Pathetic, I know! The funny thing is that my kids beg me to play so they can watch and get so mad when I can't beat a level. I think they are as addicted as I am. I promise I don't normally sit around playing video games, it's actually quite rare I play at all, but yes I'm hooked!

Next I'm going to try to refocus my addictions to reading the scriptures and exercise. Maybe one of these days it will stick and I just won't be able to get enough! Please if you read this and also suffer from addictions of various nature---PLEASE don't hesitate to share. You're not alone. :)

Party time . . . .

Our end of the season party was a huge success! Our friends the Leavitts donated their awesome pool and we enjoyed some swimming, pizza, and trophies of course. I LOVED the trophies this year, it's a glove so they can show off their game ball. The kids were so excited, Michael talked about each kid and why he enjoyed coaching them. You could see the joy in each of their faces as they were brought up. We had some FUN kids this year! Here's Haley with her trophy. She's the only girl on the team, but it didn't matter--she can totally hang with the boys!
Coach made sure to get a big hug from Haley. He's such a proud Dad!

Hunter Got his trophy and metal first. He was SO EXCITED, he very happily posed for a picture.

Harm and Hayden could have stayed in the water all day. The water was a little cool so I didn't think Hayden would like it, but he was in heaven! He was kicking and splashing like crazy!
Hunt has become quite a fish!
Michael joined in the fun to, it was hard to resist that pool and fun rock slide!
Hayden--the "Waterbaby"
Harm hung out in his tube and got pushed around by everyone. He loved the attention!

Red Sox T-Ball 2010

Harm loved to run the bases after the game. He just wants to play to!
Here's Coach Mike handing out the MVP award for the game. Michael is an awesome coach and has become so attached to these kids. They all love him and there are some sad parents that he's not moving up to Rookies next year, but he's really enjoying the T-ball age.
Here's Hunter, the smallest kid on the team (cutest to :) I liked to call him my little bobblehead, that big helmet made him look like one as he ran the bases.
Surprisingly Haley really enjoyed playing catcher. She was good at it because she isn't afraid of the ball.
Here's a few of the kids waiting to find out who got the treasured "Game Ball"
Harm loved going to the ballpark, mostly to run wild and chase birds (which meant Mom was chasing him). He did stop a few times to cheer on his Big Brother & Sister.
What CUTE little Red Sox fans!

She's just so cute!
This was at our last game. Haley was excited to go to the party and Hunter was just tired. I think he was excited to so he got up at 6:30 that morning. He cheered up a few minutes later.
Haley, Aydan, and Ethan. these 3 have played together for 2 years and are good friends. We hope we can get them together again next year in the rookies. Aydan's Mom and I are planning his and Haley's wedding. I would totally approve!

Red Sox Pride

So I'm not sure if I should cheer or cry. Today was the last day of Baseball for our Little League Season. We ended on a good note and a great game. It was a fun year and we made some great friends! Michael was emotional as he handed out trophies today, he has become so attached to these kids. He is so good with the kids and LOVES coaching. It's a good thing we have lots of boys, because he'll be doing it for a while. I'm sad it's over yet relieved at the same time, I'm sure everyone is sick of me whining about how hard it is to watch Harmon at the ballpark. He just wants to run everywhere and I guess I'm the overprotective type. I do love watching the kids play and seeing them get better with each game. Next spring seems so far away, but we'll have soccer to keep us busy. Many more pictures to come of the season and our party.

The Pushover!!!!

I admit that I am totally not above bribery. If it works I will use it to get what I want. Although sometimes I think the kids know how to work the system and I become a total pushover. For example, a simple trip to Costco--I told them if they were good they would get a hot dog and a drink when we were done shopping. Below you can see what we ended up with. Can you say DISGUSTING?!?!?!

Okay, so I admit I really wanted these.

The problem is that they got the Hot dog and drink to. To make it even worse, they really weren't that great while shopping. See what I mean--I'm a PUSHOVER! Either that or they are just really Smart :)

Pure Happiness

Oh how I remember those summer days of playing in the sprinklers, eating Popsicles, and getting totally exhausted. We got the sprinklers going for the second time today and the look of joy on my cute kiddos faces was priceless. They had a BLAST running thru the water and looking for ladybugs. The sandbox became islands with boats that sink and rivers to splash in.
Harmon was asleep when the kids first went out, but when he woke up he really showed his big brother and sister how to get wet!
Here's the ladybug they found, they LOVE watching climb up and down their arms.
Another thing that brings these wild kids pure happiness is wrestling and tickling. I usually ends with somebody crying, but they still do it (usually at bedtime)
