The BIG 3

So Friday is Hunter's Birthday so of course I HAVE to Blog about what a wonderful kid he is! He really is a wonderful kid, well . . . . MOST of the time :o) He was born on January 30, 2006 at Valley Hospital at about 8:00 in the morning. I was induced that morning and labor only lasted about 2 1/2 hours, not even enough time for the epidural to take hold. We were so excited to get our cute little boy here and we've had fun with him ever since.

What do we love about Hunter . . .

*His smile
*When he doesn't know what to say he tells you "I Wuv You"
*He says "OHH Tay"
*He's hilarious without even knowing it
*He gets excited about the craziest things
*He LOVES his sister and brother and always wants them to be happy
*He'd eat Peanut Butter and Jelly for every meal
*When he thinks he folds his arms and taps his chin deep in thought
*He wants a Monster Truck party and wants his sisters friends to come to his party (Monster Truck party supplies were like 80% off--I really love that!!)
*He loves to read stories
*He loves to cuddle
*He hates it when his hands are dirty
*He likes to be Mom's helper and wash windows or empty the dishwasher

The list could go on and on! We LOVE you Hunter!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Emotional Attachment

I know I get attached to a lot of physical things that are probably silly like clothes (especially baby ones), stuffed animals, and home decor. I realized last night that I have an emotional attachment to our car. Sad, yes I know! We sold it yesterday to a really nice couple and I really wanted them to have it because they were so nice, but as we handed them the keys I remembered bringing Haley home from the hospital in it and being 9 months pregnant with her when we got it. Then I remembered bringing Hunter and Harmon home in it as well. What wonderful memories. I did try to think about fitting the 3 car seats in the back and felt some relief that we now have a bigger vehicle, but I think it will still be missed. I'm sure I'll get over it quickly and get emotionally attached to some other unimportant object.

On another note we had the inauguration on this morning and Michael asked Haley if she knew who that guy was on TV. She said "No" then Michael told her it was the new President. She said "Oh President Monson--we learned about him last night." I am so relieved that my little Family Home Evenings are not in vein!! We did talk about Prophets as Hunter jumped on the couch and Harmon crawled all over me.

Build a Bear

Today we decided to let the kids use their gift cards they got for Christmas and headed to Build a Bear. They were so excited all morning and couldn't decide what animal they wanted to get. Hunter was the most difficult--he was set on a dinosaur then a puppy then finally went for the Koala Bear. Haley quickly chose a kitty that she named Alley and I had to get the Monkey for Harmon. It was just to cute. They had fun stuffing them and dressing them in the outfits they got with their gift cards. Hunter had Ironman, Haley a soccer player, and Harmon a football player. Michael and I being the horrible parents that we are spoiled them and got them another outfit to (I did have $10.00 in coupons to use). They couldn't wait to come home and just play with them and really can't wait to sleep with their new friends tonight. Thanks Rich and Angell they LOVED their Christmas present!!!!

No Secret Here

Okay so it's no secret that our family are all major Red Sox fans. I've never been a huge baseball fan, but Michael has turned me and I'm addicted. It is so fun to have a team to cheer for that you really care about. Our children have been brainwashed as well and know that the "Red Sox ROCK" and the "Yankees are stinkee" (Sorry to all you Yankee fans!)
Everyone got new Red Sox gear for Christmas and Haley got a new bat for T-ball so we had to get a few pictures. If you ask Haley--Summer is for swimming, Fall is for Halloween, Winter is for Christmas, and Spring is for BASEBALL!

There's nothing better than . . . .

There's nothing better than . . . .

Fresh Baked Cookies!!!!! YUMMMMMMM
This picture led me to remember to label all pictures . . . Who's Who

New Years Resolutions

Okay so here is the list for the year, it has taken me a few days to get it done. Some are more important than others. I heard that if you share your goals you are more likely to accomplish them. I'll list them in no particular order . . .

Physical:
Go to the gym at least 4 times a week
Give up Diet Coke (yeah right)
Eat Healthier
No more eating after 7:00pm
Loose all the baby weight
Grow out my hair (this is for Michael-not me)
NO MORE Ice Cream before Bed :)
Do more Outdoor activities
Start training for a mini-marathon (I wish I had the drive to do it!)

Spiritual:
Read my Scriptures EVERY DAY
Read the Ensign--more than just the VT Message
Read the VT message :)
Do my Visiting Teaching
Magnify my calling--Cub Scouts here I come!
Do better at Personal Prayers
Be on time to church (I want a soft seat!)
More consistency with Family Home Evening
Start reading the scriptures with my kids
Attend the temple at least once a month
Read the Sunday School and Relief Society lessons before church
Start writing in my journal again
Look for more Service opportunities
Invite someone to hear the gospel
Have more Faith

Monetary:
Create a Budget and STICK to it
Quit eating out
Pay off a car
SAVE*SAVE*SAVE
Quit Target--It is my downfall, I can always find something to buy
Don't buy unless I Absolutely NEED it!
More Food Storage--that's spiritual to

Personal:
Date my husband more
Start scrapbooking again--finish baby books for Hunt & Harm
Go to bed earlier--get up earlier
Stick to a schedule
Keep my house cleaner and organized
Make lists--I do really good with lists, I enjoy checking things off!
Clean out the dreaded Junk Drawer
Connect with an old friend
Be more patient with my kids
Be more patient with my husband
Be more patient with myself
Don't Procrastinate
Be more positive
Do more with Friends and Family

I'm sure I could list many more things, but I'm getting tired just thinking about it. These are all things I really want to accomplish and I challenge anyone out there to check in on me to see how I'm doing. I probably won't have time to eat, sleep, or breathe. Unfortunately eating, breathing, and sleeping are all on the list. Am I setting myself up for failure? Wish me luck!

Just another day . . .

So I've always thought as New Years Eve as "Just another day." I usually end up watching fireworks on TV while kids are fast asleep and Michael is hard at work. This year things changed just a bit--Michael still had to work, but Haley and Hunter actually made it until midnight and were happy about it. We cuddled in the recliner watching all the crazy people down on the strip and hoping we'd catch a glance of Dad. No luck, he didn't even get to see the fireworks because of all those wonderful drunk people (he didn't miss much, they were horrible this year). Earlier in the evening we got to celebrate with friends. Jessica and ShaLayne came over with their kids and we pigged out on junk food and visited. It's always nice to have friends who are lonely at the same time you are! We had a great visit and of course none of us got our cameras out to remember the event. Maybe next year. Anyway, I hope everyone had a safe new year and are looking forward to 2009. I have done the traditional list of resolutions and vow to keep them this year, there are to many to list right now so they will come in a future post. It will be a miracle if I keep them!
