Memories

My parents ran into an old friend of mine last week Kim Kelsey (Anderson)and it made me think of my old drill team days in Richfield. Those were some fun years that I will always remember. It's funny how growing up changes you. Back in those days I wanted to dance forever, but unfortunately I got old and overweight. I took a Hip Hop class at the gym last week and felt ridiculous. The coordination just isn't there anymore. It's fun to think about the past and the fun we had. My sophomore year of high school was such fun. The Richfield High School Azurettes took 2nd place in state, but you'd think we'd won. We rode the Fire Truck and everything! It is such a fun memory! I wish I had more pictures!

Happy Birthday!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MICHAEL!! We had a great weekend celebrating Michael's 33rd Birthday. He says it's just another day, but we definitely need to celebrate the birth of this great guy! We started the celebration on Wednesday by going out to dinner and to a 51's game. Then Thursday we made daddy the chef and cooked our own calzones or Stromboli (We weren't sure what to call them, but they were yummy). Friday we watched a Red Sox game on TV (One of Michael's favorite things to do) then went to Applebees for dinner (Haley's request). We ended the night at Target to buy a new game for the Wii he got for Fathers Day/Birthday. Saturday there was another Red Sox game on and we went to see Kung Foo Panda with his brother Eric and wife Jenny. Followed of course by pizza with brownies and ice cream. Unfortunately Michael has to work on his actual birthday, but I think the weekend made up for it. Michael is the greatest husband and dad and I am soo thankful for all he does for me. I'd be lost without him! I love you Michael and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!
I only made him blow out 3 candles on his brownie--I don't think 33 would have fit.

Harmon 2 months

What a CUTIE!!! Harmon is getting so big and has found his cute personality! He has the cutest smile that lights up his whole face, I can't believe he is 2 months old already. He has had really bad cradle cap on his face, but I think I found the magic cure for it. It made me sad to see his skin so hard and flakey, but he is adoreable no matter what!

Classes

Classes at the rec center just ended. I must say it is quite a relief, we were spending 3 days a week there. Haley and Hunter had a class at the same time one day a week so there was a lot of running back and forth. They both enjoyed their classes though. Hunter took one called "Everything I need to Know." Each class they learned a new color and number. The end product was a flower with all the colors and numbers. He loved most of the class except for singing songs. That is one funny thing about Hunter--he cries when you sing. At church, school, or in the car his eyes well up with tears and he cries the entire song. It is bizarre, but funny.

Here's Haley in her Hip Hop class. She loved it and the routine they learned was so cute. If you ask her the whole class was shaking your booty. They also learned how to do the worm, which is basically kids floping around on a mat. Tooo cute!

Since the kids were done and we decided to let them take the summer off I decieded it was my turn. I'm now taking a Cardio Kick Boxing class. It is so hard, but there is something theraputic about punching that bag! Michael would agree, I've been in a better mood since it started, I can now take my frustrations out on the bag instead of HIM!

Fathers Day

As Fathers Day approached this year I realized how grateful I am to have a wonderful Dad and a wonderful father to my kids. I've always thought that they are so different from each other, but I've realized how much they have in common.
1. Love--Unconditional love for their children
2. Work--My Dad and Michael have a very strong work ethic
3. Charity--they would give everything to help someone-especially their children
4. Time--They both will do anything to spend more time with their families
5. Sacrifice--They have given up things that are important to them for their kids
6. Priesthood--Both honor their priesthood and I am a recipient of their blessings!

I'm sure I could go on and on, but mostly I just want them to know how thankful I am for them. I'm glad I can be named after my Dad Allen (Alleen) and that he raised me to be the person I am today. Michael is the best husband and father a person could ask for. He spoils our kids rotten, because he loves to see them happy. He is a child at heart! I love you both and hope you had a very HAPPY FATHERS DAY!!!

Conner

Well it's official, Conner is part of the Nelson family. Michael's brother Ryan and his wife Ronnie adopted a cute baby boy, they named him Conner Mitchell Nelson. They just had the final court date and it is official. We are so happy for them. He is an adorable baby and has been part of the family since birth, but now it's legal. Congratulations guys we're so happy for you!!

Comings and Goings

Well last week we celebrated the blessing of Harmon and this weekend we celebrated the wedding of my youngest brother Cameron. He married the sweetest girl named Jessica and they are disgustingly cute together. It's fun to see them so in love and can't wipe those goofy grins off their faces. They were married in the Bountiful Temple on Friday, June 6. There was a reception that night in a little town close to Heber City, UT. We then had a reception in Panguitch the next night. Both receptions were beautiful and it was fun to see old friends and family we hadn't seen in a while. We were able to see some of Michael's family as well, but not for the funnest reason. We learned Thursday that his Grandmother Elva Gibson Nelson had passed away. She was 93 and lived a wonderful fulfilling life. Her legacy will live on thru her family left behind for a very long time. It is sad to see her go, but know that she is happy and reunited with her husband and children that went before. Her funeral was on Saturday so we were able to attend that in between the receptions. It is a blessing that everything worked out and we didn't miss any of these important events. All of these comings and goings make us very thankful for the gospel and the importance of eternal families!

Harmon's Blessing

What a weekend we had. We had a house full of family visiting and couldn't have had a better time!! Sunday, June 1 we blessed Harmon. His Dad gave him a very special blessing and I of course cried like a baby. We have been touched with each of our kids blessings when we see all of our family support us in the circle. There was a lot of family that came from out of state and from right here in town. Thanks to everyone who was there to support us! We had a great lunch at our house afterwards and luckily we had enough food. I think we decided that there were around 50 people here. Cooking for that many people stresses me out majorly--I'm always worried that there won't be enough or that it will taste awful, but everything went well and the food was actually okay. I had lots of help though. I wasn't very good at getting the camera out until the end when I caught Haley with it in the sandbox. So any of the pictures that are from an angle looking up were taken by Haley--she's quite the photographer. It was a very special day that we will remember forever. We feel so blessed to have Harmon in our family, he is such a special little spirit!
