What to do with leftover beans . . . .

Don't you hate when you get done with dinner and there's just a little bit left and you wonder "should I save this or throw it out?" I have come to the conclusion that if it is any type of beans just leave them on the table and Haley will finish them off. This is an older picture, but she regularly does this. She finishes her dinner then waits until everyone else is gone and takes the spoon to the BIG BOWL. She is truly a Nelson! Let me just say "Beans Beans the Magical Fruit, the more you eat the more you . . ." Well everyone knows the rest :)

Where's Fall?

I love the fall, but I think it got lost this year! I've done all I can to welcome it, but it doesn't feel like it's here quite yet. I put up my Halloween decorations, school started, it's getting darker earlier, general conference is coming, the pumkin candle is burning, and I even changed my blog background. Yet the tree in my front yard has new flowers and the temperature gage on the car said it was 102 yesterday. OCTOBER is only a few days away! I guess I shouldn't get to eager I still have some baby weight to loose before I can fit into my favorite pair of jeans. The shorts and Capri's will stay for a while longer. A weekend in Utah would probably cure my longing, but because of soccer we can't get away for a weekend until November, by then it will be so cold in Panguitch I'll want to stay home. I guess there is just no pleasing me! For all of you out there enjoying your fall weather please have a bowl of soup for me and cuddle up in a nice warm blanket.

3 Dollars Please

Haley got 3 goals today at soccer. So that means she gets 3 dollars. Yes Dad decided to encourage her with a dollar per goal. She's not going to let him forget either. Last week she had 2 goals and it will only go up from here. We got nervous when she scored the first 2 goals of the game. The Ladybugs went on to win 8-2.
Before soccer we visited a car show in downtown Henderson. It was fun to look at all the classic and new cars. Michael of course got excited about rims, engines, and horsepower. I don't know much about all that stuff, but there were some pretty colors :) The kids liked anything with flames or that looked like Speed Racers car.

This is Michael's dream car. A '67 Camero SS (At least I think that's what it is) Unfortunately they aren't made for car seats, so his dream will have to wait. Sorry Michael.

Laurel Hills

So it's official--we are in a new ward. We just had Stake Conference and they Changed all but one ward in our stake. We were put into a brand new ward called "Laurel Hills." Since we have moved to Henderson not even two years ago we have been in 3 wards. I think that's a record! The change was much needed! In the last ward we had about 250 kids in primary and if you were 5 minutes late for church you wouldn't get a seat. I'm excited to be in the new ward with lots of friends. Michael already knows a ton of people too. It will be an adjustment, but changes are fun!
Haley was Sleeping Beauty and wanted a little photo shoot--what a pretty princess.
This is what happens when Hunter dresses himself. He's a little fashioned challenged.
Harmon has realized that when he rolls on his side he sleeps better. We can tell when he is down and out!

We Won!

Haley had soccer yesterday and they WON their first game! Haley had 2 GOALS!!! She was so excited--it's the first time she has ever scored. I think it will give her the confidence she needs to do it again next week. She was just beaming after each one. I'll admit I don't know who was more excited--Haley or Mom and Dad. (Here's Haley with Emma and Morgan)

This week in the Nelson Household . . . . .

I learned
***I love freckles. Haley now has a cute little array of freckles across her nose. I think they are to cute! I wish my camera was good enough to catch them.

***Dropping a 35 pound weight on your toe REALLY HURTS! May cause swelling and bruising--I don't recommend this to anyone!

***Little boys are so innocent. Hunter saw a lady (a very well endowed one) on TV in a skimpy swimsuit that was designed in Red, White, and Blue--he automatically was excited to see Wonder Woman.

***Haley knows me well. She was asking me what I wanted for my birthday and I said I like things for the house so she said "a cleaning machine"--Yes I would love a maid for my birthday!

***I've missed being available. I got rid of my cell phone when Haley was born and didn't think I missed it that much, but I got a new one this week and really enjoy being available again.

***I still get homesick. Yes I know I'm old enough and have been away from home long enough, but I still get homesick. I'm feeling the need to head home for a few days and let Mom take care of me or at least just visit for a day. It doesn't help that EVERY DAY my kids ask when we're going to Panguitch again. They love their Grandma and PaPa.

***Carpooling is the greatest! I love only having to drive kids to Pre-school once a week, but I do miss not being there when she first comes out of class excited to show me what she did.

***Little girls are hilarious! Haley's friends came over after pre-school for lunch and play. First thing they did when they got to our house was put on a little concert and sing the Days of the Week Song to Michael. Then came princess clothes and pretend food. They were so fun to watch play! Oh I remember being a little girl!

***Taking 5 days off from the gym is a big mistake! I went back today and it was like starting all over again. Hence the weight falling on my toe! I'm tired, sore, and not to excited to go back.

"Mom Moment"

So Friday night we went out running a few errands. Michael wanted to check out the new Sportsman Warehouse and I needed to go get a few things at Target. I have to admit I wasn't in the best of moods and was a little short with the kids and Michael (Sorry!) We rushed home to make dinner and get kids in bed because we had an early soccer game Saturday, when at the end I had a total Mom Moment. I was standing in the kitchen doing dishes and looked out into the family room to see Haley dancing in her PJ's as she watched Barbie and the Diamond Castle, Hunter was watching her laughing, and Michael sitting in the recliner rocking a happy Harmon. I had an overwhelming feeling of joy hit me and I admit a tear escaped. It's funny how these little moments hit and make me realize how truly thankful I am for all that the Lord has blessed me with. I know I take much for granted, so I'm glad Heavenly Father blesses me with these "Mom Moments" to remind me of all my little blessings. I wish a camera could capture how I truly saw it in my mind, but it's impossible. It's my prayer that I have many more moments to come!

School Days

It's official Haley started Pre-school today. She is growing up so fast. She loved her class and was excited to see Emily and Sophia there. They practiced A's today and colored an Armadillo. On the way home she told me all about Armadillo's--I was shocked at how much she knew and that they covered all that in class. I then learned that she knows about armadillos from watching Go Diego Go. I guess you can learn from watching TV.

Hunter wasn't to happy about her going to class. He cried and just wanted his friend Haley to play with him. I'm glad they are such good friends! I had to go buy him a treat and go to the park to get him settled down. Plus I need him to know that Mom is pretty fun to hang out with!

Midnight Sun

Okay I just heard about Stephanie Meyers new book Midnight Sun. It is another book in the Twilight Saga, but this one starts from the beginning and is Edwards Perspective. So apparently someone leaked the book on the Internet for everyone to see. Stephanie Meyer was upset by this (Which I don't blame her at all!) and decided to not finish the book. Dishonest people really irritate me! So anyway she put what was complete on her website for all to read. I started it and I must say it is awesome! I want to read the whole thing regardless of what is already out there so I hope she changes her mind and finishes it. I would buy it regardless. If you are interested in reading it click here If you loved the other 4 books you will love this to!
