More Soccer

Here's a few more action shots of Haley playing Soccer from last week. She did so much better at practice this week, it's getting more and more fun for her.

Grandma Wallace

Well we just returned from my Grandma's Funeral. We lost her last week which was very sad, but she was ready to go. The funeral was beautiful! We made the long trek to Price where she lived for the graveside. It was a beautiful day and there were so many people there to support the family! My mom spoke, which I think would be a difficult thing to do, she has been caring for my Grandma for the last year, but she did a great job. I admire anyone who can pull themselves together to speak at a loved one's funeral! I was thinking about some memories I had of her, so the list below is just a few things I thought of.

Peppermints--She always had a stash of peppermints and she would crunch them instead of suck on them

Kleenex--She was always attached to a box

Game Shows--for as long as I can remember she has watched game shows. Mostly the old ones on the game show network, but Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy were always there to.

Teeth Grinding--The first time I heard her grind her teeth I thought it was the most awful sound on the planet--That is one thing she did pass that down to me--Sorry Michael

The Carpenters--I will never forget the time I drove her from Price to Panguitch for my brothers mission farewell and we listened to the same Carpenters tape the entire way. It was bearable the first 3 times then it got a little old! Funny memory

Clean House--Everytime we came up to visit we would dust all of her china and nick knacks, but the funny thing is there was never any dust. It just didn't come in her house. We always washed her car to, but it was NEVER dirty. She was a very clean person.

Magazines--She got a ton of magazine subscriptions. It makes me laugh to think she was reading about Brintney Spears and J-Lo in People magazine.

Birthday Cards--She never missed a birthday!! She was so organized and they always arrived on your birthday. One year I didn't get one and I called my mom to see if Grandma was okay, she had just gotten off the phone with my Grandma and she was calling to say she had just found the card and was so upset it didn't make it to the mail in time.

I always loved visiting Grandma Wallace in Price, usually it meant girls weekend, so just my Mom and I would go. I realized after she passed that I didn't know a lot about her history and it has been fun to get to know her thru my Mom now. It has made me realize how important it is to use the time we have on earth now to learn about our loved ones and their history. I am so thankful for eternal families, I know that we'll be together again someday!

Soccer Mom

It's official I'm a soccer Mom!! Haley just had her first Soccor game today and her team won! They call themselves the Tigers and they are so fun to watch. Haley did a lot of standing around. She isn't to aggressive when it comes to getting in there and kicking the ball, but she had a great time. Michael and I felt kind of bad telling her it was okay if she kicked the other team, but she is just to nice for that! We lucked out for her first game and the weather was perfect. It was overcast and almost rained, but that just made it very enjoyable! I'm actually excited to be considered a soccer Mom, I guess I just need a mini-van and some mom clothes like capri's and gym shoes or Mom pants where the waist is up to your chest. :)

Things that make me go Hmmmmm

Here are a few things that truly puzzle me--If anyone has any explanation or solutions to my thoughts, please let me know!

**Why is it that out of three kids the one that should be waking up every three hours is the one that sleeps thru the night? (yes I had the older two in bed with me last night)

**Why is my kitchen floor still dirty right after I mop it? I just spent 45 minutes mopping the floor and changed the water 3 times and it was still dirty.

**How is it that my 4 year old daughter can beat me at Wii Bowling? She bowled a 198 WOW!

**Is it wrong to starve my dog so he won't poop so much? Just kidding, but really how does such a small dog poop so much? We're constantly cleaning up the back yard.

**Why do my kids think the isles at the grocery store are free space to run WILD.

**There are two things that I'm never caught up on--Dishes and Laundry. It's never finished! As soon as I think I'm done, there's more . . . . .

**How can I create a few more hours in the day--Time always runs out!

**Why do I dream about blogging. I'm not kidding I dreamt about posting last night. I'm truly pathetic!

Yes these are some truly random thoughts, but things that make me go Hmmmm. I'm sure there are lots more, but the laundry and dishes are waiting!

Things I LOVE

I was thinking about all the things that I love that my family does that I haven't written down. I've been awful at writing all those funny things down as the family has grown so here are a few for my record.

Michael
1. Loves the Red Sox!!
2. Adore's his kids more than anything in this world! He can't help himself from spoiling them.
3. Pepsi is his drink of choice right now
4. Loves movies and is very good at trivia. He is the guy you want on your team when playing board games. He's also VERY competitive. He is a wealth of useless and good information.
5. Did I mention he LOVES the Red Sox. He's been a fan for a very long time.

Alleen
1. I love it when my house is in order--it doesn't have to be spotless, but everything needs a place to go.
2. I can't stand my bedroom. I only sleep there--it always comes in last for decor and cleaning.
3. I love the Kick Boxing class I'm taking--it's a great way to work out frustrations.
4. I love having a good book to read and I get mad when I get done and don't have a better one to start.
5. Totally addicted to several shows--Jon and Kate plus 8, Dancing with the Stars, and Lost just to name a few. I'm very thankful for DVR!

Haley
1. After she gets her hair done she'll walk around looking for compliments from anyone that will give them to her. She loves to be pretty!
2. She loves chore charts and being a big helper.
3. Haley makes up songs when she plays and it's always interesting to see what they are about.
4. Has to have a napkin when she eats.
5. Loves corndogs and mac and cheese. Recently discovered that she likes shrimp, fish, and mushrooms.

Hunter
1. Can't say No---Everything is MO Mom MO
2. Every time he gets dressed he runs around yelling Da Da Daaa
3. Hates us singing especially at church--his eyes well up with tears
4. Says sorry even though he didn't do anything wrong.
5. When shot with a toy gun, he does a good death act.

Harmon
1. Laughs when you take his shirt off--it hits his tickle spot.
2. Loves the vacuum he finds it soothing (I love it to-that means my floor is clear enough for me to vacuum it!
3. Loves to sit and stand up--he is such a wiggle worm!
4. Harmon LOVES Bathtime!! He'll splash around forever!
5. He's just starting to reach for toys and kick when in his bouncer. He's growing toooo fast!

Happy 4th of July!

I hope everyone had a happy and safe holiday. We had a wonderful weekend. We headed to Panguitch which we were so excited to do--mainly because Haley and Hunter were there and we missed them terribly. Michael and I did have a little date on the way up and stopped to see the movie Hancock with Will Smith. It was nice to have some time together. We decided last minute to head to Richfield for the 4th--they actually have a few events going (Panguitch has a 2 minute parade). The parade was fun and the kids got quite a bit of candy. The park afterwards proved to be way to much for us--it was crazy busy and it was difficult to even walk around. I was so excited to run into some old friends and it ended up that I didn't see anybody, I couldn't believe I didn't see anybody I knew. That night we enjoyed the fireworks in Panguitch, they had a great show for a small town. The next morning I got to escape and go to breakfast with my good friends ShaLayne and Sally. It was so nice to catch up and visit. We started planning our class reunion for next year (I'm not saying how long ago I graduated). We headed home later that day so we could be back for a baby blessing. Michael's brother and wife blessed baby Conner--we were glad we were able to make it. Anyway, it was a great and very busy weekend. It will be nice to stay home this week and recuperate--oh, and detox my kids from Grandma and Papa mode.
Enjoying the Parade

Oh Haley What a Poser!

Hunter hated the fireworks--he scares easily. The smoke rising is from some of those stinky snake fireworks. He could handle those.

Harmon was good, but didn't love the heat a whole lot. It was a little warm that day!

Lonely

This week has been so strange! After visiting Panguitch last weekend Michael, Harmon, and I headed home. Yep, no Haley and Hunter. They spent a few days with Grandma and Grandpa--getting spoiled, staying up late, and eating junk. Needless to say they have been in heaven and don't want to come home very bad. They are going to have to though--I miss them terribly. It's funny most days I wish I could just have a little break, but when I actually get one I can't handle the lonliness. I had the hardest time leaving them--I cried for about 20 minutes after saying goodbye. I will say it has been so nice to have some alone time with Harmon. The poor kid never gets any attention, but the past few days he has been smothered with my attention. He is such a good baby, but I think he missed his big brother and sister to. He isn't used to having the house this quiet. In the end I think having a little break from kids makes me a better mom, because I realize how much I love them and need them around! Michael missed them horribly to, he actually wanted to go get them a day early. It's only been 3 days, but I guess that's all it takes.

Henrie Family Reunion

We just had our annual Henrie Family Reunion and it was so fun! It was great to visit with all the cousins that I hadn't seen in a while. I also hadn't spent any time at the Ranch for a while so it was nice to be there and relax a little. The kids were in heaven with all the freedom. They love playing with their cousins and getting dirty. To end the reunion everybody went to the Balloon Festival in Panguitch. We look forward to going every year. They do a glow in the evening--that's where all the balloons line up down main street and light up at the same time. It is a great time to see old friends and visit. Hunter didn't like the Balloons very much, all that roaring fire scared him. That explains why all the pictures of him have him covering his ears. Overall it was a great weekend!! I always look forward to spending time with family, we are truly blessed to be surrounded by so many people who love us!
